Yes i have been whale hunting....mmmm...greenpeace would be proud...aaargh....read below for some detaaaaaaails!
Soooooooooo
From bangkok we did a quick pit stop in bali to say hi and bye to stephanie's sister and we headed to the more exciting and less touristy island of flores. Here we snorkelled with captain ghani and with red blue yellow green white tropical fishes (avoiding the jellyfish) and took pictures of large volcanoes from beautiful black beaches.
From flores we went even further off the beaten track to lembata island which gets less than 300 tourists a year.....and this is where the real adventure started. In a remotish village called lamanera i joined fisherman who legally hunt sperm whales for their livelihood using bamboo harpoons...they catch about ten a year so are exempt from the international ban on whaling.....they caught no whale but they did catch three dolphins which made me squeeeeeel....oooh welll it was an experience....
From lembata we hope to somehow get to west timor.....
Promise to add some photos and videos sooooon....stay tuned.....

Day 3: bye bye Aeroflot good morning BANGKOK
Russians love to drink and this is why our flight from moscow to bangkok was alcohol freee...you couldn't even buy a cheeky mini bottle of red..this didnt stop the young russian lads though...
they opened up their duty free whisky and vodka and drank drank drank till the bottles were empty. And then they would hop to the toilet for the compulsory fag...!
They were also dressed in 80s beach gear with the nasty looking short pants as if the plane was going to land directly on phuket beach and they would jump out to drink more vodka..!
And with a huge cabin applause aeroflot landed in bangkok yesterday morning..
In 24hrs we have managed to eat our way through 4-5 street stalls, met a spanish traveller who thought singapore was part of indonesia, done some tuk tuk racing and saw more shops than we ever did living in luanda....
Sooo with the jet lag gone its time to enjoy our second day in bangkok before air asiaing it to bali and eastern indonesia.
