After our well deserved rest in lively Belgrade we got back on the bikes for a long cycle along the Danube towards the city of Novi Sad. It's a super hot stiky day as we cross the Sava river and say our final goodbyes to Belgrade. Pretty quickly we find ourselves in peaceful countryside among vineyards and cherry trees (very tasty cherries). By mid afternoon we are ready for a big lunch of domestic grilled sausages, followed by a cheeky icecream stop and by 91 km the hot temperature has worn us out and we call it a day in this beautiful medieval town called Sremski Karlovci. We drink fresh orange juice (yeeeees we neeed the vitamins !) , have a nice full moon dinner next to the Danube and sleep in a 200 year old house....perfect ! All we need now is a refreshing swim in the Danube !
Stats for day 8:
Cycled 91 km.
Time: 5 hrs 20 min.
Max speed: 49.1 km/h.
Avg speed: 17.0 km/h.
