Day 332: Danube cycle tour Day 15: Budapest to Esztergom - 91 km

It was certainly an eventful day as we left Budapest and headed north along the west bank of the Danube. We must have done less than 10 km and Rai's saddle flew off due to a faulty screw. Luckily a nearby bikeshop came to our rescue. Stephie also managed to cycle straight into a nail towards the end of the day so we had to fix our first puncture. Between these two incidents we cycled more than 70 km along the famous Danube Bend, passed the Visegrad castle and did a little sightseeing in historical cobble street towns like Szentendre full of weekend visitors taking it easy. The cycle paths were busy, busy, busy as we eventually made it to Esztergom: apparently the Rome of Hungary. We will see tomorrow!

Stats for today:
Cycled 91 km.
Time: 5 hrs 35 min.
Max speed: 33.71 km/h.
Avg speed: 16.7 km/h.
Wildlife: snake!
