Day 291: Village life in Abyaneh, Iran!

From the large city of Esfahan to the tiny village of Abyaneh (near the city of Kashan). The ancient village with its red mud brick walls and old colourful dressed ladies offers a perfect contrast to the traffic sounds and congestion of much larger cities in Iran. Young people have long left the village in search of work leaving desperate old women trying to sell the odd fruit juice or souvenir to make ends meet...we finally gave in and brought some dried apricot. The village is so isolated that the locals speak Middle Persian instead of Farsi. Stephie was talking about converting the village into a university to bring back the young...would it work I wonder ?!
