Addicted to hitchhiking from our Iraqi experience we jumped into three cars from the border to Mardin, 180km to the NW close to the border with Syria. Easy peasy. Mardin is great place to chill out and watch the sunset over the plains of the Mesopotamia. The castle sitting at the top of Mardin would make a great tourist attraction. Unfortunately it is occupied by the Turkish army.....! Istanbul and the end of the Asian adventure is getting closer!
