Day 292-294: Busy, vibrant Tehran, Iran !

Tehran....the iranian version of the Kathmandu of Nepal. Nice mountains in the background....congested, noisy and busy in the foreground! yes it's a busy city. We tried to catch the metro during rush hour. We gave up after six attempts! On the contrary the bazaar wasn't very busy. It was 7pm and they were already closing up.....in other cities like Esfahan and Shiraz it is a happening place till atleast 10pm! Tehran is also a great place to indulge in fancy alcohol free cocktails and tasty food from the nearby Caspian sea....or do you prefer your hot-dog or fast food option...mmm mmmm mmm...i don't think so! It's a city of two halves...much poorer and conservative in the south, more affluent and cleaner in the north. And if you take a taxi and cross the city you will know why Iranian taxi drivers are in my opinion the craziest but best drivers in the world....We have never seen such ridiculous reversing down a busy highway....superb!
